And the Stockings Were Hung

To get a little bit of Christmas spirit here in Toronto, we hung our stocking last night over the fireplace. Since we are going to be spending the holiday in the States we do not have a tree this year. Plus our apartment doesn't really have a great deal of space to put a big ole tree. So the stocking are our decorations.

It's been kind of weird to think that it's almost Christmas. It is chilly here, but not overly cold and there is zero snow on the ground. We have also been so focused on figuring out our next stop that the holidays are just a quick trip to see our families. But I am determined to get some Christmas happiness up in here.

A few Sunday's ago we went down to the main intersection at the end of our street and watched the Santa parade. It was probably the strangest parade we have ever seen- the Easter bunny made an appearance, there were hundreds of clowns, all of the McDonalds characters were there....and it all happened a week or two before Thanksgiving!

Here are some pictures of our Sunday parade....my favorite is the little kid with the red nose. He did not want to be there once the parade actually started, but his Dad reallllllly wanted him to see Santa. About an hour into it he had scratched his nose and the red paint all over his cute face. :)
