Plans, Plans, Plans

“I see my path, but I don’t know where it leads. Not knowing where I’m going is what inspires me to travel it.” — Rosalia de Castro

Not knowing our path seems to be the theme of our life right now. We make decisions at the last minute and try to make that decision work. It is exciting and scary and fun all at the same time. With only 4 weeks left in Malta we felt it was time to start planning again.

This time we have made a plan starting in March and going until the end of June. It isn't set in stone or booked yet, but a plan is a huge start for us. On our next leg it will be Dan, Ben and I traveling and living together. Mike and Laura are in the process of deciding their next steps.

For March we chose 3 places we all wanted to visit and divided our time. Our first stop will be 3 to 4 days in Rome to see all of the sights. One of our close friends from college studied in Rome and gave us a ton of amazing information and suggestions of places to see, eat and enjoy. We are so excited to be able to spend a few days doing all things Italian. Since the boys can't work at all in Italy we are limiting our trip to be just a few days, and trying to do as much as we can to enjoy Rome fully while we are there.

Our next stop will be Amsterdam, Netherlands for 2 weeks. We have a few poker friends who live in the Netherlands and we are going to be able to tour Amsterdam and visit with them for a while. The boys can work while we are in the Netherlands so we are going to spend 2 weeks spreading out touristy things and work. We are trying to work in as much consistency as possible while being on the go for the month. By having two weeks in Amsterdam we will be able to have some sort of a routine and normalcy that the 3 of us like.

Lastly, we will spend the final 2 weeks of March living in Barcelona, Spain. We are all very excited about this stop and experiencing the Spanish culture. I am currently working on a finding an apartment to stay in for the time we are there so we can again have a somewhat balanced life for a few weeks. The boys can also still work in Spain so it makes it easier to have more time.

Since the end of March ends our allowed time in the Schengen countries, we will be spending April, May and June in Brighton, England, a town on the coast about 40 minutes outside of London. We are still working out the details, but this location seems to work best for us as far as being close enough to Europe to travel easily and London is a fast flight from the US in case people want to visit...hint, hint...  :)

Again, none of this is finalized, but since we have this much planned I am hard at work setting up flights and homes. If you have any ideas, suggestions, or want to come visit, let me know. We will obviously keep you updated if any of the plan changes- not counting on it though- and I promise to post all things fun from each location.

Until tomorrow....xo
