This morning I ventured out to another Coffee meet-up group. The one a few Monday's ago was a straight disaster, but since Laura is the 'host' I said I'd give it one more shot. Glad I did...today wasn't half bad.
Since this meet-up was on a Saturday there was a distinctively different crowd. There were about 10 people in all- all weekday workers, mostly single crowd that had a lot to talk about. The nice thing about it being a bigger group is that everyone could break off into smaller side convos. Observing everyone/everything was definitely the more interesting way to go.
We heard some really great tips about fun things to do in the city and great restaurants. Everyone was very nice and there wasn't an escort among them :) Nothing really too fun to report.
The one thing that did surprise me is that the entire group- with the exception of one other girl- was older than us. On average they were probably 10 years old than us. We are clearly drawing an older, single crowd. I guess people our age know friends in town, grew up here, went to school here or have jobs where they meet people. Either way, toady was another great way to get out of the house for a few hours.
Tonight we are headed out to a bar with Mike and Laura for a fun night out.
