**Sorry for the delay in this post...we've had some internet issues in Barcelona, but I think we are back on track now...at least enough to post quickly**
Truth be told, Rome made my list of places to visit purely based on food. The sights sounded fine to see, but I have been dying to go to Rome for the authentic food
Over the four days we were in Rome, we had some great meals. We dined at one restaurant twice for dinner....first, because it was good, secondly, because it was close to our hotel and we were beat on the last night. So below you will find a visual tour of our eats in Rome. Be warned: it involves a LOT of pasta, gelato and tiramisu. We had no shame for 4 whole days. Enjoy!
Night 1, Taverna dei Quaranta:
Day 2, San Crispino Gelato:
Day 2, Tazza de Oro Coffee:
Day 2, Appetizers &Wine on our Patio:
Night 2, Luzzi:
Day 3, Fa-Bio:
Night 3, Marco G:
Day 4:
Final Night: Taverna dei Quaranta:
So we obviously enjoyed lots and lots of food. We were, however, happy to find some protein when we arrived in Amsterdam. We were not used to all of the carbs on carbs on carbs. :)
Overall, our food trip around Rome was wonderful. After all of the research on places to eat and not get 'fake' touristy food, I will say it paid off! For now we are back on our chicken and eggs and simple meal plan...but those 4 days were worth every bite!
This week I will be posting about the sights and food from Amsterdam. Check back and see all about our second stop.
